Front Aerial View of the Third-Generation Semiconductor SiC Material Industrial Park Project

On February 27, the third-generation semiconductor SiC material industrial park project constructed and operated by Shenzhen Major Industry Investment Group & TanKeBlue Semiconductor Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “MiTK”) was officially unveiled and put into use in Bao’an District, Shenzhen, with a layout of substrate and epitaxial capacities. The launch of this park will further strengthen the “virtual full industry chain (VIDM)” of Shenzhen’s third-generation semiconductor and help Guangdong build a “third pole” for the development of the national integrated circuit industry.

The third-generation semiconductor SiC material industrial park project is located in Shiyan Street, Bao’an District, Shenzhen, with a focus on 6-inch SiC monocrystalline substrates and epitaxial production. It is a key project of Guangdong Province and Shenzhen City, as well as a key signed project at the Shenzhen Global Investment Promotion Conference.

Since the agreement was signed, the project progress has received key attention from the Shenzhen Municipal Committee of the CPC, the People’s Government of Shenzhen Municipality and Bao’an District Committee of the CPC and the People’s Government of Bao’an District. The project started construction in November 2021 and achieved the structural roof-sealing of plants in the key production in November 2022. In June 2023, the substrate production line officially entered the trial production and operation stage.

Shenzhen has taken the lead in proposing the innovative development model of “virtual full industry chain (VIDM)” of the third-generation semiconductor in China. The MiTK project is an important link of its VIDM development model. The official operation of the park will deeply strengthen the third-generation semiconductor industrial chain in Shenzhen and help the rapid development of the third-generation semiconductor industry in Guangdong Province.

As a holding subsidiary of TanKeBlue, MiTK will continue to provide customers with core basic materials for chip manufacturing, and continue to have a profound impact on the local industry through the supply chain, value chain, and consumption chain.

In the future, MiTK will also establish a R&D center for large-sized crystal growth and epitaxy, and cooperate with local key laboratories in the field of instrument and equipment sharing and materials. It will strengthen technological innovation and cooperation with key equipment manufacturing enterprises in the field of crystal processing, and collaborate with downstream leading enterprises to joint innovate in R&D and other work of automotive-grade devices and modules. It will also help improve the level of R&D and industrialized manufacturing technology in the 8-inch substrate platform field in Shenzhen.
